   A         RRNT        4S 0H      SFLRCDNBR(CURSOR *TOP)

where RRNT is the subfile record number to be at the top of the display on
Exfmt.

(when this is the position-to for the first display, the only way I've ever
found is to fill RRNT as I write every subfile line until the position-to
field is less than the current record being processed.

errr... or use DoU.... whichever is your favorite

<flagrant Plug> add a scroll bar on the right and your subfile becomes
completely mouseable and neat as heck. (so long as you have the last 3
columns of the panel empty)

A  91            SFLEND(*SCRBAR *MORE)

 </flagrant Plug>

I'm working on a subfile program and have a (I hope) simple question:

How do I position in the subfile so the requested record is the 1st one
displayed? I'd like to be able to do something similar to the 'Position
to' on the PDM screen.
