For various reasons, we decided to limit /free code to columns 8-80.
(The biggest reason was that we'd have a lot of work to do to get
the compile listing to look right.)

BTW, you can still use the "Comment" field to code comments, as long
as you code // in front of the comment.

I do agree with your suggestion, though.
