This should really have been on the Midrange-L list, as it doesn't have
anything to do with RPG.

It sounds like the power schedule is being used.

GO POWER

Press F10 to see the default schedule

This used to be used where I work, to turn off the system Sunday night and
turn it back on Monday morning.  Once I took over all of the system
configuration stuff, I brought that to a quick end.  I am strongly opposed
to powering the system down unless needed for hardware maintenance.

I wrote a CL program that shuts things down as cleanly as possible then does
a PWRDWNSYS RESTART(*YES) IPLSRC(B).  I put this on the system job
scheduler.
