This may be a silly question and I'm hoping it has a simple answer.
What is the easiest way to convert an 8 digit numeric date (defined as 8P 0)
in the format CCYYMMDD to an ISO format date field (defined as 10D)?
I need to do some date calculations using the SUBDUR command.
TIA
Adam Ray

My thought would be just move the digit field to the date field.

  *ISO     MOVE    DIGITFIELD        DATEFIELD

Before doing it I would do:

   *ISO   TEST(D)   DIGITFIELD

--> always test a non date field before moving it to a date field
to make sure
it confirms to date field criteria or you will get errors on
the move.
