Actually, I find this 'feature' useful when trying to isolate a decimal data
error problem (or any data problem for that matter) in the fields of the files
in use, since the debug screen steps through them.

That's not a bug, that's a feature! :-)

You need an H spec like this in your program:

H Debug option(*nodebugio)

Then debug skips the I/O lines. I believe this went is with a ptf for v4r3
and was built into v4r4 and v4r5. I'm on v4r5 on all machines so I can't
double check when they 'fixed it'.

Subject: Debug reading files

Hi all,

Thanks for all the replies to the array > 500 elements viewing problem I
had.
The Eval Array(1..2000) worked a treat.

Unfortunately I have another question.

I am using debug with an RPG IV program, and stepping through with F10......
when the debugger hits a chain etc, it goes to the F spec and 'reads' the
file causing me to repeatedly hit the F10
to get to the next line.

I'm sure I've seen a way to prevent this but I can't remember how to do it..

your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Colin Thorpe.
