Mike,

There is a sample socket program in the excellent Redbook entitled "Who knew
you could do that with RPG/IV? A Sorcerer's Guide to System Access and
more". The Redbook is available at www.fatbrain.com
<http://www.fatbrain.com> and costs only $20.00 plus shipping. I have been
referring to this book almost daily since I bought it several weeks ago.

                Subject: Socket RPG Programming . . .

I'm working on a socket program to link a server (PERL 5 on
Linux)
program to an AS/400 for WEB (Intranet). Where's a good
place to start?
What I mean is, where can I find a GOOD example of a socket
communication
program in RPG. These things are hard to find. I don't
have a problem
with PERL, it's pretty straight forward, it's that dang 400
that's got me
buffaloed. I've used ASP on a NT to do WEB publishing in
the past (VERY
                SLOW). Looking for speed!!!!
