You can't use function key indicators to control screen functions ... they 
have a tendency to be reset when screen io occurs.

Perhaps you could just save the state of a few indicators (that aren't used 
in the screen io) until after the screen io is done.

Just move the *INxx fields to a 1 character field, do whatever you need to 
do with the indicator, do your screen io, and move the character field 
value back to *INxx.

Personally, my religion won't allow me to use indicators for anything other 
than screen & printer i/o, so I'm a proponent of changing programs that use 
indicators.
