     Seems open to interpretation, but my definition of any %int function 
     would be "the integer portion of".  By this definition, -8 is correct. 
     "The next smallest integer" seems a tad arbitrary to me.

And Perl returns -8, and according to my instructor this is correct since 
the function of %int(-8.9) is to return the integer value of the number w/o 
first rounding the number.
     
Who's right?
