I agree, this discussion reminds me of years past whrere we had to cram stuff 
into memory or squeeze a little more oopmh out of the machine. It's good to 
know this stuff though when you have that million record file. Another thing 
to keep in mind on the Reade verus read and compare is that other than a 
Klist I really don't need any other fields to find the records I'm interested 
with reade, while on the Read and comapre I need to define hold fields to do 
the comparison tests on.
