Isn't that what I said?  That EVEN IF, the new programmer had an
A+ he isn't going to write good code?

We maintain over 5000 programs written in RPG II, RPG III and RPG IV,
converting to C at this point would be very expensive.  I'd like a
solution that gives modern language capability without losing the
backwards compatibility.

I'm also much more familiar with RPG than I am with C, and have
used it far more extensively than C.   I like RPG, but would like
to see it improve.  Database I/O in RPG is much better.
