Not having an example of your code, I can only guess that you are using
these
indicators only one in your program. Re-use your indicators as much as you
can
by turning them off between formats. Whenever possible do not convert cf01
or ca01
to indicator. Use Ka to Ky in your programs, which I still feel reflects in
clearer
reading of the code. Theres no doubt that KC came from the format and is not
an
indicator embedded in the program. Last but not least use not when possible
something
I am against but if I already used all 99, Well its another way. Also use as
few
indicators as possible in your program.

  Hot ifeq Cold
      move *on *in87
      else
      move *off *in87
      endif
*in87 ifeq *on

can also be said

Hot ifeq Cold
    move *on temp 1
    else
    move *off temp
    endif

temp ifeq *on

Subject: I am short of Indicators

Hi All,

It happens everytime.
My application uses almost every indicator from 01 to 99. These indiactors
are
basically used to condition various display attributes of the display files'
fields.
Now when I go to add a new field or add some more display attribute to an
existing field, I find that I have already used up all the indicators,
nothing
is left.
Then I go and put lots of Or/And conditions for the indiactors.
But this is not a clean way.
Can anybody tell me if there is a better way to do this?

(Day dreaming : - AS/400 guys at IBM has increased Indiacator length from 2
to 3
thus increasing the indicators from 001 to 999)

Thanks,
Rajeev.
