Yep in regards to HP. I have the standard config stuff I carry around on
a portable drive and I tried that and it didn't like that version and
told me I needed to get the version for Windows 7. So I did that.

And compatibly mode is a GREAT idea! Totally spaced that. I will give
that a try.

Is the HP software specifically for Windows 7? If not, I'd check on
their site for the latest version. Have you trie running the software
installer in compatibility mode for XP? Just tossing out ideas...
