Re: SSL Certs - VeriSign vs Thawte

fixed

Thanks Mike,

I've been doing some reading and I've wondered the same thing. If you
really go with some of the smaller ones I guess you get some goofy
domain in the bar that might confuse things. Otherwise the "warranty"
being tossed around for the reason one is so expensive seems to be
totally smoke and mirrors...

Not to really confuse things, but GoDaddy SSL certs are even cheaper
yet. I
have really wondered the difference between all of them and why buy one
over
another.

Hi Folks,

Any of you responsible for buying SSL Certs ?

We bought one of our websites several years back from VeriSign. We are
getting ready to bring another website online here shortly and I was
looking at EV SSL Certs and VeriSign is flat out TWICE as much as
Thawte. I know Thawte has been around and is well known (and even
owned
by VeriSign I guess ?).

So why wouldn't I get one from Thawte ?

Thanks !
