I'm not familiar w/Location Free, but I can say that the Sligbox is the
best piece of AV equipment I've ever owned! It's a lesson in simplicity.
It's a box with some plugs (power, ir blaster, L/R Audio and composite
video) and nothing more. Plug in the wires, drop the thing behind the
table and forget about it! Nothing to adjust, nothing to finagle,
nothing to mess with, true plug and play!
As for 3G, I can't speak from 3G experience, but I do know that I can
play video on my cell phone just fine on Verizon. Of course, it's a
smaller screen, so there's less signal.
