RE: Registry Clean-up

Jon,

I use two registry cleaners every now and then.  One of the old standards is
jv16's RegCleaner as mentioned by another user.  I use the last free version
(link here: http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/), not the one now owned
by Macecraft Software (http://www.jv16.org/)

I also use and recommend the freeware RegSeeker by Hoverdesk software
(http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm)

Anyone got any experience with good registry clean-up tools?

I ran the Free Registry Fix tool that PC Mag have on their download site.
Trouble is while it reported hundreds (literally) of errors on the 6 month
old machine, it has a number of problems.

- This free version only fixes 50 items.
- It doesn't tell you which 50
- It doesn't back up the registry before it starts (every other fixer I've
ever used does that - or at least suggests you do so - so it didn't occur to
me!)
- It doesn't tell you what is wrong - so it is tough to tell whether the
report is genuine or not

Given the above I'm very reluctant to hand over the dollars for the full
version.

Any suggestions?
