For this very reason of nearly non-existent support, I have been very
partial lately to shareware solutions. Frankly, if I catch wind that a
US-based company is using an overseas call center to handle tech support
calls, I'll take my business elsewhere.

In particular to your situation, I was going to advise that you check out
BootItNG. I have been using their Image product for a few months now and am
very happy with it. Haven't had the "pleasure" of the saving from one disk
and restoring to another, differently configured disk, though. I've
wondered how a pure disk image could be restored in such a scenario.

The Windows version of BootItNG's Image allows you to select files to
restore from the image, which was a BIG plus in my book.

I have been very disappointed in Symantec's products lately. Norton
Anti-Virus flat out refuses to install on my home PC. I don't remember
specifics as it's been at least a month since I gave up and downloaded AVG.

hth next time,
