Dan,

A .pst file is the file outlook saves it "things" in. This includes
e-mail as well as tasks, contacts, calendar, etc. You can create
another .pst file and move your old messages to it periodically.
In outlook2000 you can do automatic archiving. I don't know if it
works in Outlook97 - you can search the help for archiving. I have
all message over 2 months old go to an archive.pst file. Needless to
say this file is very big.

Subject: Can Outlook '97 forward all mail in one folder with "one
click"?

I've got about 500 items in one Outlook '97 folder that I have to free
up space for. Outlook has an option to export a personal folder file
(.pst) that I could use, but what apps can handle .pst files? Or are
there any converters out there that would make the file readable by
other email clients?

TIA.
