I don't like the idea of trusting your IT infrastructure completely to 3rd party, IBM or not.

My son worked awhile at Burger King. The head IT guy at the time there outsourced *everything*. My son was one of the last few techs out the door. (The IT director kept his own job there, presumbably). Talking about it, the rationale was just "We make hamburgers".
