... seems to be difficult! IIRC they told me when the MQT was introduced the
automatic maintenance will come.
As a "workaround" we get the includes in EVIs.
But I have no idea whether or when they will have finished the MQT automatic
maintenance

Hello Birgitta

This thread reminds me of an MQT question I asked waaaay back .
I created an MQT with
DATA INITIALLY IMMEDIATE
REFRESH DEFERRED
MAINTAINED BY USER

I asked then (10 years ago ?) whether a MAINTAINED BY SYSTEM will be
available sometime in the future.

Have the future arrived yet?

TIA
Gad

There are restrictions!
Here an excerpt from the SQL Reference (CREATE TABLE Statement):

When a materialized query table is defined with ENABLE QUERY
OPTIMIZATION, the following additional select-statement restrictions
apply:
? Must not include any special registers.
? Must not include any non-deterministic functions.
? The ORDER BY clause is allowed, but is only used by REFRESH. It may
improve locality of reference of data in the materialized query table.
? If the subselect references a view, the select-statement in the view
definition must satisfy the preceding restrictions.
