If you want to see why the tool makes a difference, go into Run SQL Scripts
and select Insert from Examples and look at: IBM i Services, PTF, Group
PTF currency and they show an example of how to modify a statement from
iACS to that crappy STRSQL. Basically it has to do with some variable
types.

Because of your choice of tool?
Try it in iACS Run SQL Scripts instead of STRSQL.

When I do:
SELECT PATH_NAME FROM TABLE
(QSYS2.IFS_OBJECT_STATISTICS(START_PATH_NAME =>
'/tmp/.com_ibm_tools_attach',
SUBTREE_DIRECTORIES => 'YES',
OBJECT_TYPE_LIST => '*DIR'))

I get this:
PATH_NAME
*POINTER
*POINTER
*POINTER
*POINTER
*POINTER
*POINTER
*POINTER
*POINTER

When I do:
WRKLNK OBJ('/tmp/.com_ibm_tools_attach/*') DETAIL(*EXTENDED) DSPOPT(*ALL)

I get this:
Object link Type
. DIR
.. DIR
132 DIR
133 DIR
135 DIR
136 DIR
137 DIR
15 DIR
7100 DIR

Why am I getting *POINTER instead of the directory name?

Thanks,
Monty
