Upon continuing research, it looks like the BOB project has a CVTSRCF
command that given a library and source file name, does the conversion for
you. I think it requires a library called BOBTOOLS and a few other odds
and ends, but it looks very promising....

Sounds like a big mistake to me.

I've lost count of the number of times, when working with source *not*
stored in members of a source PF, when I've *wished* the lines were
individually datestamped.
