Subject: ACS field mapping

The majority of our part numbers (in an alpha field) are 6 numbers dash more numbers (123456-123). We are gradually converting machines from old Client Access to ACS. The issue we are running into is that several of our employees that were recently converted are very familiar doing this type of data entry with the numeric keypad, including the '-'. This is not working in ACS and I am not finding documentation that tells be how to do this, and trial error so far has been a failure. I tried to map it as a character that way, but it didn't work. Any suggestions on this?
