Hi Gavin

I think you will find the new Navigator is quite excellent - it is separate now from the client. IBM have taken system admin stuff into this Navigator and put other things like running SQL statements in ACS. Give the new Navigator some time.

Cheers

That would be me... . but..  alas..  I spent t he weekend converting to ACS... it's a LOVE/HATE relationship right now.
Two pain points.
Caching credentials takes x10 longer than with the old client.
I will really miss the navigator Client the most.

Two positives.
ACS is more compatible with Windows 11 from the Taskbar perspective.
ACS seems quicker than the old client.

Questions.
Is there a way to get ACS to present newly started sessions in front of all others, instead of in the background?
Does anyone have a working config using a netrc file?

Thanks for the update.

Then again, one can use this to get that person who didn't want his PC
updated to submit...

I did, and was told:

APARhttps://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/SE79942 ; was released to make
changes to License Programs that are now being provided for free. The
PTFs involved removed the licensing of all of the now free LP's which
did include 5770-XW1. See the following PDF for all details:

https://public.dhe.ibm.com/systems/support/planning/transfer/IBM.i.Price.Change.and.Simplification.2H.2023.pdf

As I mentioned last week, we had updates ACS starting at 1.1.9.1 to no
longer check for 5770-XW1 licenses to prepare for this. Unfortunately
the removal of 5770-XW1 did effect the older out of date clients. We
have now released new PTFs that correct this issue mentioned in the PDF
above.
5770-SS1 PTFs available 10/24/2023*
7.5: SI83648 -> SI84894
7.4: SI83647 -> SI84893
7.3: SI83646 -> SI84892
7.2: SI83645 -> SI84891
7.1: SI84524 -> SI84890

Applying will add the new License Program changes to the system and
allow older Access for Windows and ACS to still connect.

Did you open a case?
It really helps to get this resolved for others.
