Unfortunately, at least in many parts of the US (as sad as it is to say) download speeds are often times very poor. For instance in my cabin in the north woods of Wisconsin, we barely get a cell signal, let alone high speed internet. The internet in the US is not as pervasive as in Europe. Europe was very fast (and smart) to enable and support advanced cell service and such, way faster than the US (due to our extensive hard line infrastructure for two wire phone lines, historically we could get a phone installed in a day, vs. Europe where it was somewhat more difficult) and that was a significant advantage for Europe.

Now as to careful design and search functions, yes, that must be part of the whole project, but sadly often times is not.
