DSPF did the trick. Now, I can see that my commands appear to be logging correctly so my problem I think lies elsewhere.

I'm working with a vendor doing IFS security & remediation and have been changing some authorities on IFS files. Maybe the problem lies there...

Oh, in answer to your question, I'm using QSH to run sftp and passing a batch file (pulls down some files using mget).
