RE: SQL Option for DSPFFD


Don't forget that in DB2 for i that column names can be up to 128 characters in length.

DSPFFD works on DDL-created tables with the caveat that if you are using DSPFFD to an Outfile, the created file only shows you the first 30 characters of long field names, since field name WHALIS (Alias) in file QSYS/QADSPFFD is defined as 30 positions long.

I have a utility that uses a combination of DSPFD and DSPFFD
to provide a quick list of fields in a file.
It does not work on sql tables
DSPFFD does not work on SQL tables.
What are the options to display the field definitions in a SQL table.
