It's probably the default user id settings on the connection. This doc should help.

Subject: iSeries to Excel - keeps prompting for iSeries password on the connections
**** CAUTION EXTERNAL EMAIL ****
I have an Excel file - has connections to our iSeries that have SQL statements in the connections.
For 2 users, the iSeries User ID and password are asked for, and once entered, all of the transfers (SQL statements) fire correctly.
But, for one specific user, the iSeries User ID and password are asked for, and keeps asking for the same User ID and password multiple times.
Is there a password cached that is incorrect somewhere?
Greg
