Hello James,

I really haven't been paying much attention, but am I to understand that the latest IBM Midrange hardware has SSH capability?

It has an SSH Server and possibly an SSH client

Including 5250 over SSH?

No. This was and stays a telnet-only thing. Ssh is solely giving you access to a UNIX style shell on IBM i, akin to qsh, but without the limitations of 5250 in regard to something coming from a character based world instead of a forms based.

You can use the port forwarding facility of ssh to forward an insecure telnet (23) port to a remote client over an ssh secured channel, though.

:wq! PoC
