Hi,
Can anyone tell me how/where to reference the valid 5250 character set
from, when verifying the data will display?

In general, the range from x'00' to x'1F' is various control characters, 5250 commands, and 5250 orders. From x'20' to x'3F' is attributes. From x'40' to x'FE' is where you find valid characters.

You can find charts in various terminal and terminal-controller manuals, in the 5250 data stream reference (I forget the formal title), and <plug> the Reference Screen (VIEWREF) in our own QuestView (tm) database access utility</plug>.
