I guess part of this is what constitutes a JVM upgrade? Does a JVM upgrade only occur when you load on the LPP version, and maybe change the environment variable, as indicated by
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/how-determine-what-java-development-kits-jdks-are-installed-and-use-them-your-environment#:~:text=To%20determine%20what%20JDK%20versions%20and%20bit%20levels%20are%20currently,the%20%22Product%20Option%22%20column.
Or do PTF's also change the JVM? Perhaps some minor revision level?

See also the timestamp on these files:

/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/JavaVM/jdk80/32bit/release
/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/JavaVM/jdk11/64bit/release

What I am trying to figure out is will an attempt to figure out when a lpp option was install suffice? Do I need to also see if when system wide environment variables were also updated? Or do I need to see when PTF's were put on?

QSH CMD('java -version')
java version "1.8.0_301"

Value . . . . . . . . . : '/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/JavaVM/jdk80/64bit'
