Are you sure which sed you are using?
$ ls -l /usr/bin/sed
lrwxrwxrwx 1 qsys 0 56 Jul 18 2017 /usr/bin/sed ->
/QSYS.LIB/QSHELL.LIB/SED.PGM
$ ls -l `which sed`
-rwxr-xr-x 1 qsys 0 1696485 Nov 25 2019 /QOpenSys/pkgs/bin/sed
