When I edited the ACS system configuration in question, the Connection
tab had "IP address lookup frequency" set to "Never - Specify IP
address" with an IP address specified.
I changed it to "After startup" and the IP address disappeared. Or did
it? When I closed ACS, and restarted it, the IP address still shows in
the System Configuration. And the Verify Connection still worked, even
though the system name was not in the DNS, i.e. ping systemname fails.
Another issue is that when using ACS's System selection, it only shows
the system name, not the description. In this particular case the system
names are
DS05SPAS400DEV
KS06SVAS400
They are both development systems. What's the difference? Which one is
which? What is the point of having a description if you can't use it to
help select the system?
Oh, and another point about System Debugger using a different method for
connecting. It's like the software here, which is really old. Most of
it now uses F3=Exit, F12=Cancel, but some of the programs still use
F1=Exit, F2=Cancel. And this company is not known for user retention,
or making an effort to keep institutional knowledge. IBM at least
should be able to do better.
Sorry if I sound a bit peeved, it's just that I'm a bit peeved.

Why are you using invalid system names and IP addresses in iACS?Windows servers from our IBM i. If we had IP addresses in everyone's iACS
When we do a switch we change the dns entry (automatically) on our
