The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
I suspect the battery internal to the thing has long passed it's 'use
by' date. As a consequence the time keeps defaulting.
But what did they expect when that thing is older than my son who is a
degreed Chemist with a job in his field already!!
Now if I recall correctly the battery is replacable but I've re-used the
synapse which hold the battery type or the procedure to set the clock!
As to that default date, see Rob's answer.

How is the date set so it automatically is today?
On this system they have to set the date manually every day.
When they forget it defaults to 1939.
