Alan,
Not sure what kind of "look up" you did, but you actually ended up on a page for Informix -- another database that IBM acquired at some point.
Notice, near the top left of the page, where it shows:
Home > Informix Servers 12.1 > SQL programming > ...
(I am not even sure what platform(s) "Informix servers 12.1" runs on.)
So, yes, apparently, you are looking at the wrong web page. :-o

Hi Niels
I must admit - I had never heard of that parameter on the drop function So I did a look up
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSGU8G_12.1.0/com.ibm.sqls.doc/ids_sqs_0715.htm
According to this page - its NOT part of the function Am I looking at the wrong web page?

Hello.
What have I misunderstood regarding:
drop function xxxx *restrict;*
Why does the IBM i not complain in the following example that function a() is in use of b() and can not be dropped using the restrict keyword .. I had the impression the it was the idea of "restrict"
create function a () returns int
begin
return 1;
end;
create function b () returns int
begin
return a();
end;
drop function a restrict;
Same issue applies to procedures as well.
