I had to call IBM about a similar issue where STRTCPSVR *SSHD would not run on a couple of partitions.
Problem was an authority issue on several IFS directories related to *SSHD. IBM support had to walk me through
resetting several permissions which were AIX language oriented.
Once reset, STRTCPSVR *SSHD worked and ACS Open Source could be opened.

Is SSH running? In Navigator, expand Network->Servers-TCP/IP Servers. Then find SSHD and make sure it has a status of Started.

Thanks

Ya, for me it's not a huge deal as it's a devo system. But lets say the customer updates their OS... all of a sudden it will stop working with a handshake error and hopefully we won't forget why and have to go through this all again! :)

Maybe an issue with my OS itself it sounds like.

Can't speak to that, would have to get in and take a look. Sounds like
you are able to do business, so that's one relief.

And you're substantially less likely to get protocol hacked than have
a disgruntled or careless team member let in the bad guys!

One last thought, you might check the order the ciphers appear in QSLLCSL on both sides.
If you haven't already checked.

To paraphrase "Yes we released the function but didn't need a TR Group update to deliver it."

The base TR PTF SF99302 is in the latest HIPER (level 23) as well as the latest group PTF for Db2 Mirror. The majority of the new function is in the latest Database Group (Level 7).

New functions provided in ACS and RDi and such require those products to be updated using supported update methods for those products.

The ability to virtualize tape libraries from IBM i host to IBM i guests is also provided but not in any group PTF that I could find. The PTF SI73220 if ordered will pull down the needed prerequisite PTFs for i 7.4.

SI73219 for i 7.3
SI73218 for i 7.2

subject: IBM Surveys in relation to colsed tickets - but WHAT
TICKET???

IBM sends out survey requests by email after closing a support case/ticket.

The request provides no information whatsoever as to which ticket it relates to, not even a reference number.

I received three of these this morning as I commonly will open cases for myself and customer issues.

So for every survey this morning I selected option 5 (range was from 0 -
10) for would I recommend IBM and in each of the comments I put; "As I do not know what case this survey relates to I can not provide any comment"
and selected the option to not provide any further survey answers.

Wonder if anyone will take any notice at all ...

<snip>
We recently sent you an email about your experience with IBM i Operating System v7 and program products and noticed that you have not yet shared your feedback. At IBM, we make it a priority to listen to our clients and want to continuously improve on our offerings. So, we would love your candid feedback on how we are doing. Please take a moment to answer a few short questions about your experience.

You can begin the survey by answering this question:

How likely are you to recommend IBM i Operating System v7 and program products to a colleague or business partner?
</snip>

Cheers
Don

Ya, I've tried that. Without this one cipher the request won't work no matter the order.

It is at the top of their list, though. But there are plenty of others that match as well.
