No, your ODBC user doesn't need access to the logicals..

The DB has all the authority it needs to make use of logical's index the
when fulfilling the query.

The only reason you'd need to give access to the logicals is if you have a
query that uses the logical in the FROM clause.

Recall that it's perfectly acceptable to have a PF table with no user
access at all and logicals/views to which users are granted access. The DB
can still return the data out of the PF via that view.
