When telnet-ing from one IBM i system to another, is there a way on > the 2nd system to know what workstation the request came from on > the 1st system?

Hi, be careful this is just a thought ........
If you start your telnet session like this:

TELNET RMTSYS(REMOTE_i) RMTVRTDSP(MYLOCALDEV)

Then you should be able to have a qualified guess about the local device name.
I have verified that if the device does not exist it will be created.
A device in use situation might give you problems though.
