you guys are a gift...

SO... with all of today's trial and errors on top of your valuable input, i
was able to...

- setup http ssl
- create a certificate in DCM
- use that certificate (.pfx file export (with password)) in postman to
validate testing

which ONLY allows those I give this certificate to to pass into my apache
http server...
and in my eyes, this creates a form of authentication/authorization... no?

Just what i was hoping to set out to do.

now if i'm relying on this certificate too much as a form of authorization
(and there are ways around it which I'm unfamiliar with), please help me
understand why.

thanks!

Nobody's blaming you .. if my light tone made it sound like we wuz
disrespectin', my apologies.

Have seen clients shoot self in foot pretty thoroughly with a few easy
keystrokes :)

Just wanted to make sure that wasn't happening here, e.g., some private key
getting out of the lab like a ... um ... virus? :)

I do really appreciate the input and assistance received on here.

And we're all glad to provide it and show off how dang smart we all iz ...
:)
