I do not believe there is a single part of SNDMSG which requires SNA.
We used to use SNDNETSPLF as a way to archive spool files. We don't anymore. H/A software helps. Weaning off of reliance on spool files is another.
I do not believe your unix way of taring files and sending them to a remote system would save the object authorities on the individual objects. Would it?
