If you have 1,500 files CRTDUPOBJ of each one can be a lot of work. One would have to balance that against just restoring the whole library and clearing the data from all the partitions.
Then there's the whole how does CRTDUPOBJ handle RI and all that stuff.
Speaking of RI, a mass clearing of partitions may have to be ran multiple times. Or does CLRPFM ignore RI constraints? If not, then each run would get more and more files until querying SYSPARTITIONSTAT returns no partitions in that schema with any rows.
