Today, the two customer boxes have been behaving themselves with respect
to our emulator, with my sessions staying up for hours at a time,
instead of minutes or seconds, regardless of whether I was pounding on
the session or ignoring it.
The latest bit of information: at least one of them had been IPL'd one
CPU short, and had been (and I quote straight from the source) ". . .
pegged at 98-100% CPU all day."
But that doesn't answer the question of why the IBM emulator and TN5250j
were able to stay connected for hours, under those conditions, while our
emulator's average connect time was measured in seconds.
