Hello all,

I recently asked a question to the group about using QDLS because our ERP package uses it for the upload of information. I'm wondering.....I know that I can use System I Navigator to basically emulate mapping a drive to QDLS by simply navigating down to the QDLS level under File Systems, finding my directory under QDLS, and right-clicking and creating a shortcut on the desktop. Then, boom, even though a mapped drive to QDLS won't work for me, the shortcut does. Has anyone experimented with setting up access like this to QDLS at the user level? I know it would have to be awfully locked-down so that the typical user couldn't see all the functionality that Navigator offers. Is that functionality truly limited by the user's authority through their user profile? Any suggestions from the group on using this as a practical alternative to a mapped drive to QDLS? And I know, QDLS is ancient and we shouldn't even be using it, but our ERP package is the limiting factor here, so unfortunately that's what we're limited to. Thanks!

Bill
