Can you define what you mean by "read it".

Is this a chain or setll and read or reade ?
Are you accessing by the primary key or other columns? (and is their delayed
maint on the indexes) Is the read by the name column and not mixed case like
the insert..?
Are there other columns in the file and having an issue with null values?
Lots of possibilities..

What's "option 18"?

Is it an SQLRPGLE program that did the insert? Does it use commitment
control? If so, did you do a commit after the insert? If it's SQLRPGLE, do
a DSPPGM command against it. On the module page (3 for me), do a "Display
description" against your module. You want " DB2 for IBM i module
attributes:", which is down several pages.
