The procedure for setting up LAN console is painful. You can toggle in which Ethernet port to use via the front panel once DST starts, but it’s lengthy and error prone. Expect it to take a good hour or more of fiddling. But that’s where you should start.
You need to get IBM Client Access Solutions for the console and 5250 emulation.
Did the systems you acquired come with disks? And the OS wasn’t wiped? That’s pretty fortunate...
