Correct me if I'm wrong, but the built-in restart capability is only available via the HTTP Admin GUI tool, which is a manual, interactive process.
The process in question in this thread is an automated, un-attended, batch process submitted via Advanced Job Scheduler.

The auto-restart capability seems to fit the original post. But some shops
take down servers while doing backups.
