Tier pricing is so "last century."
Modern 21st century software should be licensed and priced by one of the following methods:
* per "seat" (or user) -- but this should be sold in blocks (small, medium, large) such as    * up to 10 users    * up to 20 users    * up to 50 users    * up to 100 users    * unlimited
* per LPAR
* per site (site license, no matter how many machines or systems or LPARs are involved)
* per company / customer
    * with no restrictions on the machine(s) or their locations where this software can run
        - in other words, a customer should have the freedom to move the software "into the cloud" etc. if desired
The idea of licensing tied to a specific machine serial #, model and processor group etc. is something whose time has past, IMHO.
Perhaps it is time to modernize your software licensing and your company's product pricing and sales and marketing strategy.

Our sales staff needs the information so they can quote prices.

I know the information can be displayed with the WRKLICINF command ... but our sales staff wants to independently look it up based on the system model.
