The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

The single biggest recommendation I have is to not use the 5250
interface at all when you're trying to work interactively with the
Unixy stuff. Do yourself a massive, massive favor and get SSH set up,
and log in that way with a proper TTY terminal emulator (such as
PuTTY, but there are several other choices as well).
If you can't get SSH working, then in my opinion it's much better to
just use an editor on your local machine (whether it's Linux, Mac, or
PC). For folks with RDi, that is an obvious choice. Some folks use
other editors and have things set up so the file transfer happens
transparently, but even shuttling files back and forth manually using
an FTP client is better than trying to edit files in a Unix-style
editor without a proper TTY interface.
If you can't get SSH working and you (for whatever reason) can't or
won't edit on your local machine, then honestly, your best bet is
EDTF. It's really the only realistic choice in a 5250 session.
