I kind of like the clustering and replication built into the system for
one. It does take some care and feeding, much like the replication
solutions for DB2. For example, "replication and save conflicts". We
also have an automated system to check document counts and if it's wonky
it will clear replication history on both and force another replication.
There simply is no switch process. It just works. And it's multiway
replication. And you can do server balancing based on load or location
(although it may take a little customization). And it's truly
multiplatform. We replication between IBM i in the states to Windows in
Juarez.
