It's just flight recorder type data. It really is expendable. We do the
Method 2 but I told the people if they accidentally wiped out the
/tmp/brms after the save it's no big deal.
All the DSPLOGBRM, WRKMEDBRM, etc stuff is NOT in there.

Thanks Rob. /brms was a directory I meant to ask about. I don't
understand why they put that under /tmp.

bringing system down to restricted state. Long standing practice on 15
lpars. No problems yet.
Only thing is you may want to keep the last save stats for your BRMS
Chicken and egg thing.system
Method 1: Clean out all of /tmp before your restricted state full
save.<midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
Method 2: Clean out /tmp/brms before your resticted state full system
save. Clean out all but /tmp/brms after your restricted state full
system save.

I'm looking at implementing a regularly scheduled cleanup of /tmp.
Are there any system type objects or subdirectories in /tmp which should
NOT be deleted? Things like /.X11-unix or /.com_ibm_tools_attach.
Thanks,
Gord
