That is good to know, but I'm sure I'll forget it by then next time I
need it. 99% of our Ibm i ftp use is running a directory listing and
then creating a script to log back on and download each file one by one.
I use ftp pretty much everyday in the linux part of my job, and prompt
and mput/mget gets used a lot.

According to this page

zaiqclientsu.htm

there is no prompt subcommand on IBM i.

May have to change your prompt setting first.

Subject: IBM i FTP put entire folder/subfolder

All,

Brain f--- day.

From the IBM i, I'm wanting to FTP an entire folder (not the old
QDLS) to my
desktop PC, which has FTP server running. I can't come up with
the
correct
PUT statement and my googling skills are betraying me.

Isn't it just:

put /folder/subfolder/*

/folder/subfolder is off the root of IFS, and contains dozens of
subsubfolders, some empty and some not.

Thanks.
